When you create a blog on BlogSpot, you get a domain that is associated with the blogspot.com subdomain. For example, if you choose “yourblog” for a blog address while creating a blog, blogsopt.com gets associated with it, and the URL of your blog becomes www.yourblog.blogspot.com. If you want to connect your own domain name, you have to buy a domain name in the name of “yourblog”. When you connect your domain name, your blog URL will be like www.yourblog.com.

If you buy a .com domain name from GoDaddy, it will cost you ₹899 per year. If you buy a .com domain name from Namecheap, it will cost you ₹600 per year.

How to connect a custom domain name with your BlogSpot Blog?
We have already purchased a domain from Namecheap. If you have not purchased the domain name, then buy your domain name from Namecheap. Let’s see how to connect your Blogspot blog with a Namecheap domain.
Steps to be followed:
Step 1: After purchasing the domain from Namecheap, go to Namecheap Dashboard.
Step 2: Click on Domain List from your Dashboard.
Step 3: Select and copy your domain name from your domain list.
Step 4: Go to BlogSpot blog dashboard area. Then Setting>Publishing> Custom Domain.
Step 5: Fill in your domain name with www. See in image below, then click save.
You will get some red-colored texts. You will get the error message “We have not been able to verify your authority to this domain”.
You need to add some records for your domain as per the instructions provided by Blogger:
- 2 CNAMEs records
- 4 A Records
CNAME Records
- Blog CNAME (Name: www, Destination: ghs.google.com)
- Security CNAME (Name: mitt3cbp4vw3, Destination: gv-5gl6wgy46rdera.dv.googlehosted.com)
A records

Steps to Adding Records on Domain Registrars
Step 6: Go to the Namecheap Dashboard.
Step 7: Click the Manage button located on the right side of your domain.
Step 8: Click on the Advanced DNS tab.
Step 9: You will find some default setting there. Remove those setting before adding your records.
Step 10: Click on ADD NEW RECORDS.
Step 11: Enter your records given above as per the below image:
Step 12: Click Save Changes.
Step 13: Go to Blogger, Click Save.
Step 14: Turn on the redirect domain. It will redirect your domain from yourblog.com to www.yourblog.com.
After this setting, you need to wait at least 30 minutes to 1 hour. It will take some time to activate your DNS setting. Sometimes it gets activated before 30 minutes.
