Australian spinner Todd Murphy had a great Test debut, taking 7 wickets in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He was the only bowler who caused problems for the Indian batting team and got the breakthrough when he caught Ravichandran Ashwin’s lbw. He also got rid of Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and KS Bharat. On Day 3, he took the wickets of Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami. Murphy’s performance was impressive, with figures of 7/124 in 47 overs. This is only second to Jason Krejza who took 8 wickets in India in 2008.
